Joanna Nicholson, Co-ordinator of the Bundaberg Blood Bank, recently presented Taryn Hirst, Shalom's 2010 bloodbank ambassador, a certificate for the school’s efforts in achieving runner-up school in the local donation competition.
Donating students from 2009 are to be congratulated for this fine effort and let’s see if we can go one better this year. All students over 16 years of age are eligible to donate so think about this for the next time in May.

An important part of the Year 8’s induction into Shalom College is the Chapel tour. The tour is lead by Brother Rochford, who shares with the students, the traditions and history of our great College.
The Chapel, as a building is explained, along with the symbols associated with Catholic worship.
