Student - Term 1 Timetables
Please note the dates and times for collection of textbooks for 2019. These textbooks may be collected from Book Hire in the Goondeel Library during these periods. Also, please note that textbooks will not be issued to students who have not returned their 2018 resources. If these hours are unsuitable, collection can be arranged before school ends by contacting Book Hire on 4155 8111 or by email rehbeink@shalomcollege.com
There will be NO COLLECTION OF TEXTBOOKS FOR YEARS 7 AND 8. However, if you have students in the higher grades needing textbooks, novels (Year 7) and English workbooks (Year 8) can be collected at the same time.

Tuesday 15 January – Friday 25 January 2019: 7:30am – 4:00pm
The uniform shop will be open on the following dates, appointments are required and can be made by phoning the uniform shop on 4155 8121.

Usual Term-Time Hours resume Tuesday 29 January (Monday – Thursdays 8am – 12pm)
For students who need ongoing or periodic medication (other than Panadol) during school hours (i.e. Nurofen, antibiotics, antihistamines), parents are to complete the attached form (orange sections) and return it with the medication to Student Reception. All medication must be administered from the College office.

In years gone by, the IT Unit has traditionally handed out laptops during the first week of term.
In 2019, we would like to advise that Year 10 Student Laptops (those who have signed up to the Shalom College Laptop Leasing Program) can collected laptops before School commences at the following times from Hogan 4:
When you come to collect the laptop, please allow at least 15mins for a technician to assist students in logging onto the laptop for the first time and setting up their email account.
For those who cannot come to collect during these times, we will hand out the remainder devices next week during classes.
For our BYO Laptop/Macbooks Students, you do not need to action anything at this point.
Students, parents and staff will not have access to Student Cafe, Parent Lounge or Teacher Kiosk. This includes parents wanting to access school reports via Parent Lounge.
This may effect staff and students wanting to access the College H and N Drives, e-mails, the College intranet and Foldr.
Students have received an e-mail from the IT Department with a new username, a reminder e-mail will be sent out before Christmas regarding the new username.
This new username will be required for 2019 - students will receive further instructions via e-mail by 8 January 2019 outlining what the new username will impact.
Please continue to use your current username and password until notified.

EGGMOLESSE STREET CAR PARK - The NEW CAR PARK can be used for staff and student parking and for parents for morning/afternoon drop off/pick up. Can we please ask for those using the car parks to try and use the most appropriate entrance for your circumstances;
MAIN ENTRANCE– 9 FITZGERALD STREET: Best for parents/students and staff who want to head north when exiting the College – so people wanting to head towards Maynard Street, Branyan Road and Enterprise Street as they leave. Please also use this entrance for any late arrivals (after 8:40am), early pick-ups (before 3pm) and sick bay collections as this is the closest car park to student reception. College visitors (volunteers, guests, trades etc.) please continue to use this entrance as you will need to sign in at the front office.
NEW CAR PARK - 21 EGGMOLESSE STREET: Best for parents/students and staff who want to head south or west when exiting the College - so people wanting to head towards Thabeban Road, Kay McDuff Drive, the Ring Road and those wanting to head west onto Eggmolesse Street towards Johanna Boulevard.
BUSES: ALL MORNING bus arrivals will stay the same (Existing Bus Area). ALL Duffy buses will stay the same for afternoon pick up (Existing Bus Area). The NEW CAR PARK/ BUS AREA will be used in the AFTERNOON for STEWART & SONS, COAST TO COUNTRY and SOUTH BUNDY BUS pick ups.
DROP OFF/ PICK UP: Just a friendly reminder the EGGMOLESSE and FITZGERALD STREET car parks have the ONLY TWO DESIGNATED areas for drop off/pick up. The Baptist Church is private property, the College tennis court car park and the spare land off Brother Hogan Drive are not designated drop off/pick up areas due to safety concerns.
There are several bus services that provide transport to and from Shalom College in the morning and afternoon for students. Please contact the bus company directly for up to date information on timetables, collection points and bus passes/prices.
