ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - ADMINISTRATION

Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Principal: Administration at Shalom College, Bundaberg commencing January 2018.

The position of Assistant Principal: Administration (APA) acknowledges the importance of organisation of systems and the management of daily operations within Catholic schools. It is to assist with this particular aspect of the Principal's leadership role that the role of APA has been created. The APA focuses on providing leadership in the overall organisation of school systems, according to Diocesan policies and practices.

The APA, as a member of the Leadership Team, has a leadership role within the school community.  The APA provides general leadership in support of the Principal in the achievement of the acknowledged mission and goals of the school community.  The APA provides specific leadership in those areas delegated by the Principal according to the APA duty statement.

The leadership and direction provided by the APA will be consistent with:

-        The message of Jesus and the Gospels

-        Catholic church teachings, principles and values

-        Diocesan policies and directives;

-        The Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton Charter;

-        Catholic Education Mission Statement;

-        Catholic Education policies and practices; and

-        Catholic Education Strategic Directions.

Specifically, the APA is expected to:

-         Manage teacher and student timetables (Edval and Tass) and calendars

-         Organise and coordinate the College TASS systems

-         Coordinate parent information evenings

-         Complete government returns / census data

-         Coordinate major academic events

-         Coordinate arrangements for QCS / External Assessment

-         Coordinate the Learner conferences

Assistant Principal Administration Role Description

CORE STUDIES A COORDINATOR

Commencing 2018. Full Time Continuing Level 2 Middle Leader.

The Core Studies A program at Shalom College is designed to meet the needs, interests and abilities of a wide range of students and to prepare them for the various roles they may encounter. In Years 8 and 9, Mathematics is taught in integration with Science in Core Studies A. In Year 10 Mathematics and Science reassumes its individual subject status's.

CSA Middle Leader Description

In Years 8 and 9, English is taught in integration with Humanities & Social Sciences in Core Studies B. In Year 10 English and Humanities reassumes its individual subject status's.

AV TECHNICIAN

Immediate Start. Term-Time Continuing.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role works as a part of a small team to provide Audio Visual services across all school venues and systems, working primarily with the Preforming Arts Faculty and precinct venue manager. It provides services to college staff and external venue hirers by working on events, performing maintenance and managing the use of equipment.  This position provides technical support and advice around the college for lighting, staging, sound and AV. This role values the highest level of WHS and technical standards.

KEY SKILLS

-        Ability to perform key technician duties, including troubleshooting, customer service, and being an interdisciplinary technician to the highest standard.

-        Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other departments within the college and to maintain positive relationships with hirers and suppliers.

-        Good communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills.

-        Physical fitness and ability to work at heights.

-        Ability to interpret and create relevant event documents.

-        Good knowledge and experience with lighting systems and consoles; specifically, High End Systems Hog4 and LSC Clarity and MaXim.

-        Good knowledge and experience with Audio systems and consoles; specifically, Allen and Heath, Roland and Soundcraft. Experience with Dante networks and Audio Architect is not required but would be advantageous.

-        Good knowledge and experience with Hippotizer media servers.

-        Working with Children Blue Card is a requirement.
