At the end of July, some 145 Shalom students competed in the Bundaberg District Track & Field carnival against eight other schools.  The weather stayed fine and the competition was red hot.  Shalom dominated the Senior Division (Year 10,11 & 12) winning by a massive 325 points over its nearest rival St Lukes.  In the Junior Division KSHS outclassed all other schools winning by 101 points over St Lukes with Shalom only 2 points adrift in third.  Shalom finished with two Age Champions for the carnival.  Jessica Lane (16yrs Females) and Nash Kuorikoski (Open Males) were standouts in their Age Divisions.  Shalom students broke three records on the day with Matthew Otto running a 22.71secs in the 16yrs Boys 200m event, eclipsing the old record of 22.90secs.  Fletcher Doyle set a new benchmark in the 12yrs Boys High Jump.  His jump of 1.41m was 1cm better than the old record. The Shalom Boys 16yrs Relay team of Ethan Ennett, Bailey Perrin, Nathan Cook and Matthew Otto smashed the old record of 46.80secs, setting a new time of 46.35secs.
