Last Thursday, we officially opened the new Coolock Building, home to Adams House and McAuley House. It was a privilege to be joined by special guests and most importantly Bishop Michael.
We also blessed a powerful new sculpture by artist Jenny Steiner, titled “Common Ground – Education is the Key.” It features Catherine McAuley and Edmund Rice, founders of the Sisters of Mercy and Christian Brothers – the two religious orders that helped shape Shalom’s identity.
The sculpture, now located between the Coolock and Waterford buildings, reminds us that education is the key to unlocking better futures – a vision that remains just as true today.
