Fundraising Success

1 Jun 2018

Last weekend's fundraiser at the Spotted Dog Tavern was an excellent way to bring two parts of the Shalom sporting community together to raise funds for the upcoming QISSN netball trip to Townsville and the CONFRO rugby league trip to Charters Towers during the July school holidays.

The netball and rugby league players approached local businesses to request donations for raffle prizes and families gathered with friends to come and support the afternoon. With an outstanding 107 tickets sold the atmosphere of the afternoon was jovial and was a great opportunity for parents, friends, community members and staff to interact together to support these dedicated students.

Without the support of the Spotted Dog Tavern, particularly Mr Stephen Patterson and his staff, the afternoon would not have run as smoothly or raised so much money for the students and staff attending the two carnivals. A total of $4,425 was raised for the two teams that will go towards reducing the cost of the trips for each student. Special thanks and congratulations must go to Mr Scott Grogan who successfully outbid a few members of the crowd to win the signed 2017 Melbourne Storm jersey. The jersey was kindly donated by the Shalom Sports department, signed by the Melbourne Storm as a result of Mr Antonio Kaufusi's organisation and framed by Dallas at Bundy Frameworks.

All students, families, friends and staff that supported the afternoon at the Spotted Dog should be thanked because without their support before and during the event, the afternoon would not have been a success. The following businesses and families kindly donated prizes that contributed to a fun filled afternoon, nearly everyone took home a prize.

Please support these businesses in our local Bundaberg community that have supported our students.
