SCIENCE WEEK | DECODING THE UNIVERSE

15 Aug 2025

This week, Shalom hosted over 170 students from St. Mary's Catholic Primary School, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Bundaberg and St Patrick's Catholic Primary School Bundaberg for our annual Science Week activities!

Shalom students guided their guests through a circuit of experiments including flying teabags, lava lamps, moon phases, Elephant’s toothpaste, DNA coding (making keyrings), touchable bubbles, flame tests and making a bulb out of a pencil lead.

Students also got to meet our chickens from agricultural classes – putting forth suggested names for them and got to meet and race STOMPY the robot dog!

During the week all Shalom students were invited to participate in lunch-time activities including coding of DNA bases, Brain Break Quiz, marshmallow catapults and water rockets.

A big thank you to all the Science Ambassadors, student helpers, Science Teachers, and Staff for making these activities possible!
