Youth Pilgrimage

30 May 2018

Over the weekend of May 19-20, 17 students attended the Youth Pilgrimage in Rockhampton. The weekend was facilitated by Mr Paul Skippen's group GPBS - Gather, Proclaim, Break and Send. Mr Jesse Manibusan was the guest artist brought out from America by Paul. Jesse is well known for his song 'Open My Eyes Lord' that we sing from time to time at our Liturgies. One of Jesse's messages to us was,

"Who is the Church?" "We are!"

"Where is the Church?" "Right here!"

"And?" "Everywhere!"

"How are we alive and active?" "Because all are Welcome!"

"All are welcome because?" "All belong!"

They also had a mime artist who was very entertaining; some of our students were encouraged to assist him in a couple of mimes.

The students were involved in a variety of activities and rituals over the two days. The pilgrimage concluded with everyone celebrating Mass in the Cathedral with Bishop Michael, where some of the students were also involved in the ministries.

Thank you to Mr McMahon for driving the bus to Rockhampton and to the NET team for joining us and running some games. It was a weekend enjoyed by all.
