2026 Information

The 2026 Calendar will be handed out to the youngest sibling from each family on the first week of school.

Please see below some important information for the 2026 school year. Click on the subheadings to find out more information. 

Term 1 Commencement Dates

Term 1 2026 Commences

  • Tuesday 27 January - Year 7 & 12 Only (students to wear sports uniform) Find your house flag in the undercover area near the tuckshop.
  • Tuesday 27 January - New Students (Year 8 to 12) 8.45am to 12.00pm (students to wear plain clothes) Meet at Loyola Building
  • Wednesday 28 January – All classes commence (all students to wear formal uniform)

Tuesday 28 January 2026 - New Students Year 8 to 12 (8.45am to 12.00pm)

Orientation will begin at 8.45am. Please have your child come to the Loyola Building. Our Senior School Coordinator and Middle School Coordinator will be delivering the session for the students, followed by an IT boot camp. 

Please note the following:

  • Wear good casual clothing including closed-in shoes
  • Bring a snack and water bottle for a short break mid-morning
  • Year 8 and 9 students will be issued with their Laptops. Year 10, 11 & 12 students who have elected to partake in our Laptop Leasing Program will be issued with their laptop. Year 10, 11 & 12 students who have chosen BYO devices, please bring this fully charged on the day.


Tuesday 28 January 2026 - Year 7 & 12 (+ other Year 11 Buddies)

  • What to Wear - Sports Uniform
  • What to Bring - Sports Bag, Sports Hat, Water Bottle, Notepad and Pen, Lunch and/or money for Tuckshop
  • Arrive by 8.30am
  • Find your house flag in the undercover area near the tuckshop.

Confirmation of Enrolment for 2026 Fees

Thank you to those families who have already completed this form. It is essential that this form be completed for our Finance Department as soon as possible. Completion of this form confirms your student’s place at Shalom College in 2026, advises your method of payment and ensures that you will receive discounts you are entitled to should you have more than one child at a Catholic School or College in the Diocese of Rockhampton.

Timetables

Student - Term 1 Timetables

  • New Year 7 students and other New Year 8 to 12 students will receive their class timetable information on their first day.
  • Current Year 8 to 12 students can check SIA and Student Cafe before Term 1 commences to access their class timetable.
  • If you have not been contacted by the College regarding a timetable conflict, then students (Year 9 to 12) will be given the electives they have selected.

Textbooks

Please note the dates and times for collection of textbooks for 2026. These textbooks may be collected from Book Hire in the Goondeel Resource Centre during these periods.


Years 7 to 10 (for 2026) do not need to collect resources prior to school commencing, Years 11 and 12 may need text books depending on subjects chosen.

Text Books for Collection

In 2026 students will have access to the ReadCloud Digital Resource Platform. In simple terms the digital platform hosts PDF and interactive versions of texts as well as digitised novels, therefore hard copy textbooks will not be required for certain subjects.

Stationery Lists

Student Medication

For students who need ongoing or periodic medication during school hours (i.e. panadol, nurofen, antibiotics, antihistamines), parents are to complete the attached Request to Administer Medication at School Form and return it with the medication to Student Reception located in the main administration building. The medication must have a pharmacy label specifying the student(s) name, dosage and when to administer.

*Scheduled IT outages will take place over the holiday period - these dates will be communicated via e-mail to staff and students closer to the holidays.

Laptops (Notebooks)

Year 10 Laptop Program – Year 10 students can start collecting their laptops once notified by the IT Department. Year 10 students and parents will be e-mailed when laptops are ready to be collected which is likely to be mid January. Please allow around 15-20 minutes for collection as we will need students to login and set up their email prior to leaving the College.


Year 7 Notebook Leasing Program (+ New Year 8-12 students) – Notebooks will be handed out to students on their first day of school.
