EMPOWERING WOMEN’S EVENING! 

A HUGE THANK YOU to those that attended Shalom’s Annual Empowering Women’s event last week.

With 5-time Olympic Basketballer Lauren Jackson as our special guest speaker, a great night was had by all!

Thank you to our event sponsors; The Waves, Hinkler Podiatry, Rum City Foods, Bundaberg Swimming Academy, Bundaberg Basketball Inc. and A Touch of Paradise Landscaping & Construction.

Over $1,500 was raised on the night from raffling off a signed Australian Opals Jersey signed by Lauren! All proceeds were donated to local not-for-profit community-based organisation, Edon Place to assist them in providing specialist domestic and family violence support services in the Bundaberg and North Burnett regions.

Thank you to Lauren for her time, and for inspiring our guests!

Thanks are also extended to Di Wills from ABC Wide Bay for interviewing Lauren, our bar staff, student helpers, and Mr Algie and the ladies in the Tuckshop for catering the event.
