Harmony Week

21 Mar 2024

This week at Shalom we celebrated Harmony Week! Harmony Week is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community.
Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world, and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it.
Yesterday, we held a special College Assembly to celebrate, and we were joined by former professional Rugby League player, Sam Thaiday! We embraced inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values. We then indulged in a shared lunch with those involved in the presentation, and enjoyed a range of culturally diverse foods, brought in by our students!
A big thank you to our special guest Sam for coming to celebrate with us, and to the students and families who contributed to our shared lunch!
May we all remember the message of Harmony Week - Everyone Belongs
