In a Queensland first, The Friendlies Hospital has partnered with local high schools, including Shalom College, to pioneer an innovative vocational training program for Year 12 students.
11 students from Shalom College this week started practical placements at The Friendlies as part of their Certificate III course in Health Service Assistance.
The pilot program is aimed at attracting and training the next generation of nurses and carers.
